Building the Beer Garage's Identity

If you're a student or a new graduate, I'm sure you understand that the recruitment process is difficult to say the least. Finding an internship is hard, and finding one that is both challenging and rewarding is even harder. That's why I was so pleased to have had the opportunity to intern at AB InBev this summer. There are very few companies that are this large and this global, and having had exposure to such a huge corporation was really amazing. I think interning at the Beer Garage specifically was even more special because it fell in line with my interests and let me explore new things. As a Political Economy major and Computer Science minor at UC Berkeley, I feel that my skill set lies in the intersection between business and tech, and AB InBev's Beer Garage was the perfect place for me to stimulate my interests and allow my skill set to grow. This summer, I was in charge of working on the Beer Garage's identity - positioning ourselves within ABI as the tech trend leaders for the company and establishing ourselves in Silicon Valley as the foremost tech-driven, innovative company in the beer industry. I had the opportunity to create Beer Garage merchandise, design and launch the Beer Garage website, and organize our September Hack The World event. Interning here has truly exposed me to so many new tech products and very accomplished coworkers - it's truly been such a pleasure. Makes sense that I'm continuing my internship into the Fall!
